Mayor Lightfoot Reception

The SBAA was proud to co-sponsor a welcome reception for Chicago’s 56th Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.  Over 400 were in attendance to give a warm welcome to the City’s new Mayor, who spoke about her priorities in office as well as the importance of the legal community in helping bring change to City government.  “I know that I will be looking to many of you right here in this room to help solve some of our city’s greatest challenges,” Lightfoot told the standing-room-only crowd.  The event was co-sponsored with the Chicago Bar Association along with the American Immigration Lawyers Association Chicago Chapter, Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago, Inc., Federal Bar Association, LAGBAC (The Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago), The Advocates Society, Appellate Lawyers Association, Arab American Bar Association of Illinois, Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area, Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago, Cook County Bar Association, Decalogue Society of Lawyers, Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, Justinian Society of Lawyers of Illinois, Muslim Bar Association of Chicago, South Asian Bar Association of Chicago, and Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.
